4.Clay Café

If your little busy body of a youngster likes getting their hands dirty, then hop on over to the Clay Café in charming Hout Bay. The family-run business, which has been around since 1999, lets people of all ages paint and decorate unfired bisques (already made pottery pieces) and take home a customised piece of original crockery. What’s more, there is a beautiful garden and playground in which the little ones can frolic. The Clay Café is open every day from 9am to 5pm.

5.Damhuis Restaurant

With a designated play area and kiddies’ menu, Damhuis is the perfect family-friendly restaurant.  Parents can indulge in delicious South African cuisine and fresh seafood and take in the sea views while their children run around the sand pit or play on the various child-friendly apparatus. What’s more, on weekends, Damhuis has a child minder on site, so parents can kick back and relax knowing their little ones are being looked after.
